CAT5 Component Video/Audio Distribution System 

Audio Authority has long been known as the expert in retail showroom signal distribution. It's only natural that we should bring that expertise to the custom home installation marketplace.

Our new 9870 Series incorporates the key signal paths necessary for effective audio and video entertainment, plus an IR pathway for easy remote control of AV components. All this over just two inexpensive, easy to install Cat 5 cables. The Model 9871 Cat 5 Driver distributes HDTV signals up to 1,000 feet from the source.


Each Driver feeds two 9878 Wallplates, and expanding capacity is as easy as adding more Drivers and Wallplates. The Wallplate is easy to install in a standard dual-gang electrical box. Each durable, stainless steel Wallplate offers component video, digital audio and analog audio jacks, plus an antenna pass-through jack (RF cable for antenna jack functionality must be added separately). The IR jack provides a convenient pathway for a third party IR remote distribution network over the Cat 5 pathway. IR receiver and emitter equipment not included.

The 9870 Series delivers pristine high definition video signal with astounding clarity and color fidelity up to 1,000 feet from the source. Like our commercial video distribution products, the 9870 Series provides reliable ground isolation, preventing hum bars and other artifacts associated with ground loops.

It's easy to expand a 9870 System to any size. Simply stack additional 9871 Drivers using our Kit 46 stacking kit, or connect using RCA cables. An unlimited number of Wallplates may be served in this way.

HD Component Video
Our proprietary Cat 5 signal distribution technologies deliver Pristine High Definition Video up to 1,000 feet from the source. Clearly labeled, color coded, gold plated YPbPr jacks ensure easy hookup and perfect signal transmission.

Digital and Stereo Analog Audio
Of course, no home theater is complete without surround sound, but Left and Right audio are important when the TV's speakers may be used for sound output, or as a separate music distribution pathway.

Infrared Remote Jack
The 9870 Series provides a convenient "extension" path over Cat 5 cable for remote control systems. (Remote control systems must be purchased separately.)

Self Powered
Model 9878 is powered through its own Cat 5 cable, so there is no need for a power pack at each Wallplate.

Antenna Jack
A pass-through jack for cable, satellite or off-air antenna connections is provided for convenience. This signal must be carried over an additional coaxial cable; it is not included in the Cat 5 cable.

Stainless Steel
Blending easily with any decor, the tough steel wall plate provides a bulletproof housing for HDTV distribution.
