reached mass consumption and units priced in ranges from under
$100 all the way up to $10,000 are available in the
market. These products vary in performance, quality and
features, but
they all play DVD. I-O data puts
a twist on the AVPL2 DVD Player by adding networking function that
allows you to connect via Ethernet to a PC or NAS hard drive. For the savvy consumers building a media server
PC, this is one slick add-on to the home network. The AVPL2
is firmware upgradeable so improvements in the software can be
updated via internet connection long after the initial purchase.
The AVPL2 supports variety of multimedia formats such as MPEG-1,
MPEG-2, DiVX®, non-restricted WMV9* as well as AC-3, MP3, PCM
audio and JPEG, BMP, GIF, and PNG photo files up to 2048x1532
resolution.
*Windows Media
disks that require "call-home" on-line key authorization
not supported.
